Job Description

ROLE PURPOSE:

Lead daily operations, maintain general ledger, manage General Accounting team for timely processing of invoices/payments, and oversee Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Accounting and Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing financial policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for month-end financial consolidation and reporting process; provide status of financial condition by interpreting results.
  • Manage financial system sub-ledgers (accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets).
  • Manage General Accounting, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable staff; ensure compliance with all corporate policies and foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Prepare and review monthly general ledger entries and account reconciliations.
  • Coordinate and lead the annual external audit process, including preparation of audit schedules and liaison with auditors.
  • Coordinate tax compliance activities, including preparation and filing of sales/use tax, property tax, and coordination with external tax advisors.
  • Manage banking relationships, including daily cash management, bank reconciliations, and support for treasury functions.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Support department heads as needed by providing variance and other ad hoc analysis.
  • Analyze and report operational expense actuals versus budget, identifying key variances and trends.

Talent/proficiencies:

  • Lead change management initiatives passionate about identifying and implementing process efficiencies across accounting operations.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with an acute ability to complete tasks on time.
  • Effectively and proactively communicate essential information with all levels of the organization.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business, Accounting or Finance; or equivalent experience desired.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and general business principles.
  • 5+ years of AR/AP Accounting Managerial/Supervisor experience, preferably managing teams of 3 or more.
  • Experience with audit coordination, tax compliance, and banking relationship management.
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Office products.
  • ERP experience required
  • Must be flexible with schedule to meet business deadlines and demands.
  • Confidentiality and discretion required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience desired.
  • SAP experience
