Job Description Summary:
What you need to know about the role-This is a high profile analytics role to support risk analytics oversight of PayPal’s Financial Risk Management and Treasury teams. You will have to analyze large amounts of data, derive insights about risk and present to leaders. You will also support stress testing and develop dashboards / reports and review Key Risk Indicators. The role offers a lot of opportunities for you to be creative and propose data-driven solutions. You will need to learn fast and be comfortable with a high pace work environment that also requires precision.

We are part of the analytics team within Financial Risk Oversight, providing data driven, analytics-based insights to challenge and oversee PayPal’s Financial Risk related functions (such as fraud, seller, credit & collection, treasury etc.).

Your way to impact
You will conduct analytical projects that will impact strategic risk decisions for Financial Risk, especially for Treasury. You will develop dashboards / reports, analyze Key Risk Indicators to uncover trends and areas of opportunities. Your analysis will help ensure leaders will make decisions based on data and insights as well as it will help identifying potential areas of risks that the company needs to manage.
Your day to day
You will work with large amounts of data on a daily basis as part of analytical projects, mostly using SQL and Python. You will spending time understanding business and risk trends, querying & analyzing data and translating that to business insights that senior leaders can understand and act upon. While you will have to do most of the analysis yourself, you will need to interact and collaborate with a wide range of colleagues during your work. You will need to be comfortable producing your work with high speed while ensuring accuracy.
What do you need to bring-
- Experience analyzing large amounts of data, specifically with SQL and python.
- Be able to demonstrate analytical thinking and derive insights from data in a format that non-technical audience can understand.
- Combination of 2-3+ work years’ experience and Bachelor’s degree in quantitative fields such as Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, Math, Statistics, etc. with strong analytical and investigative mindset. (Or Master’s in the same fields with no work experience but strong academic track record)
- Familiarity with Financial Services and Risk Management, Ideally, experience with Treasury
