8:00 am to 5:00 pm | Weekday, Weekends and Holidays

ATTRIBUTES

  • Associates Degree or Certificate in Occupational Therapy

  • New York State Licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant

  • Reads, writes and speaks English.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Computer skills required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Documentation. Completes and documents assessments, establishing objective, achievable and measurable long and short term goals. Documents patient's response to treatment.

  • Treatment. Implements treatment programs individualized to the patients needs and discharge plan; issues and provides instruction in the use of adaptive equipment. Communicates directly to therapist regarding patient’s plan of care, concerns or any observed changes in medical status.

  • Discharge Planning. Participates in discharge planning, performs timely and adequate family and staff teaching to facilitate discharge plan. Offers appropriate suggestions for equipment needs post—discharge. Communicates home programs in neat, concise and organized manner

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
