About the role: 
 
We are in search of a self-motivated, solution-oriented and experienced Engineering Manager, Backend & Data Engineering to join our Affinidi Elements team. In this role, you will work with global peers on teams dedicated to areas of the product portfolio, from the product, design, infrastructure, architecture, and back/front-end engineering teams. You will be responsible for leading continued enhancement and development of a multi-component platform, where your expert skills in designing, architecting, and building quality systems will intersect with your leadership skills of building high performing team culture and growing your team members.

What’s in it for you: 

• Lead the engineering team to develop features and improvements to the Affinidi Elements product in a secure, well-tested, and performant way, primarily using Typescript, Python & AWS Data Analytics Suite of Services. 
• Analyze and interpret highly complex data to arrive at actionable recommendations for the tasks on team and cross-team level. 
• Collaborate with Product Management and other stakeholders within Engineering (eg Data Publishers, UX) to maintain a high bar for quality in a fast-paced, iterative environment 
• Collaborate in building the product and technology roadmap with peers, product managers, designers and stakeholders. 
• Advocate for improvements to product quality, security, and performance 
• Guide the team in solving technical problems with large scope and complexity 
• Guide the team in crafting code that meets our internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices for a high-scale systems environment. Maintain and advocate for these standards through practices inside the team and department. 
• Confidently own delivery of significantly complex features and improvements with minimal guidance and support. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and peers on larger projects. 
• Lead by example and constantly coach and mentor engineers in achieving the next level of career and professional growth.

You'll be a great match if you:  

• Have a minimum of 10 years of overall experience; 
• Have experience with performance and optimization problems; especially when it comes to processing high volume of data in batch and streaming modes. 
• Have 3-5 years of experience in data infrastructure development and expertise in areas such as data mining, OLAP, ETL, data modelling, complex SQL queries and performance tuning 
• Have exposure to different data infrastructure architecture patterns
