Description

Creighton University, a Catholic and Jesuit institution, is actively seeking applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE), non-tenure track faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor in our Doctor of Pharmacy program in Omaha, Nebraska. You will join a team of professionals committed to innovation and excellence in education, scholarship, pharmacy practice and service within the Jesuit tradition. Teaching & Educational Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will perform core faculty responsibilities that include teaching, clinical practice, service and scholarship. The anticipated breakdown in effort will be 50% teaching, 30% clinical responsibilities, 10% service, and 10% scholarship. It is expected they will teach courses in the Doctor of Pharmacy Program in the professional development course series and in areas of department need that align with experience/expertise, as agreed upon with the Pharmacy Practice Department Chair. Our priority for this position is a faculty member with expertise in the following areas:

  • Development, and delivery of the Professional Development Seminar Course Series to ensure accreditation required parity between Omaha, Distance and Phoenix pathways. 
  • Secondary teaching in Pharmacy Practice Department didactic courses  
  • Provide disease state management services to university employees with an emphasis on lifestyle medicine
  • Interviewer for admissions, student advising, committee responsibilities.
  • Scholarship activity appropriate with rank and the Faculty Handbook.

Service/Clinical Practice Responsibilities: Refer to the appropriate rank within the Faculty Handbook.  Clinical practice hours at the Magis Clinic, lifestyle medicine disease state management and clinical practice hours needed to maintain specialty certification are supported as negotiated with the Pharmacy Practice Department Chair.

Scholarship Responsibilities: Refer to the appropriate rank within the Faculty Handbook.  Faculty are expected to maintain scholarly activity. 

 

Qualifications

Preference will be given to individuals with:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (PharmD)
  • Eligible for pharmacist licensure in Nebraska
  • Post-graduate Year 1 (PGY-1) Residency or equivalent experience
  • Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist

The successful candidate must also possess effective communication, organization, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

Academic rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
