Senior Engineer, S-mobiili 

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Engineer to take on the role of Lead Android Engineer in S-mobiili. We work in agile teams, organized in a team-of-teams model where squads take responsibility for their own areas while collaborating closely to ensure agility and knowledge sharing. In this role, you will be developing the features and functionalities of the S-mobiili application, working closely with business stakeholders, designers, developers, and QA engineers.

Our workplace is our Helsinki office, Ässäkeskus, where we meet with our colleagues several times a week. When your duties allow, you can also work remotely for part of the week with flexible arrangements.

You bring strong experience with Kotlin and modern Android development practices, together with a deep understanding of software engineering principles. Clean architecture, maintainable code, and test-driven development (unit, integration, and UI tests) are second nature to you. Most importantly, you’re motivated by building great products that make a real difference in people’s daily lives, with a proactive attitude and eagerness to learn. 

What we hope from you: 

• Strong experience in Android mobile development (Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, RxJava, Dagger2, Custom UI). 

• Confidence in driving technical and architectural decisions, ensuring best practices, and taking ownership. 

• Capability to create processes and produce solid technical documentation. 

• Knowledge of Google Play Services and Google Play Store requirements.

• Information security knowledge. 

• Good communication skills in English. 

In addition, it’s a plus if you have: 

• Experience in technical leadership and mobile accessibility. 

• Skills in test automation and DevOps (Android CI/CD, automated testing). 

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) and additional languages such as Java and/or Swift.
