: Distribution Lead Data Engineer, Client and Innovation

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on, business-focused technology manager to lead the technological initiatives supporting data-driven distribution processes. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in data engineering within asset and/or wealth management, excellent technical expertise, and a passion for creating scalable, secure, and high-performance data solutions.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with Distribution Data Enablement, Sales & Marketing, Operations, and Finance teams to execute strategic initiatives aligned with Apollo’s target operating model. You will play a vital role in developing and enhancing our data products and infrastructure. This position involves continuous learning of new technologies, honing your skills, and working on premier industry products. You will innovate and tackle technical challenges with a long-term vision in mind.

Primary Responsibilities

You will design and deliver solutions for wealth management and Institutional asset management business initiatives. 

• Designing and developing efficient data ingestion processes, data models, and data pipelines leveraging the power of Snowflake

• Collaborating extensively with clients to gain a deep understanding of their data requirements and translating them into robust technical solutions

• Implementing end-to-end ETL/ELT workflows to seamlessly extract, transform, and load data into Snowflake

• Optimizing data pipelines to achieve exceptional performance, scalability, and reliability

• Conducting thorough data quality assessments and implementing effective data governance best practices

• Monitoring and troubleshooting data integration processes to ensure the utmost accuracy and integrity of data

• Staying at the forefront of industry trends and best practices related to Snowflake and data engineering

Qualifications & Experience

• Leadership and Quality: Seeking top-notch lead engineering talent who can thrive in an entrepreneurial environment with quick turnaround demands for mission-critical technical solutions. Must have extremely high standards and a low tolerance for low-quality output.

• Professional Experience: 10+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field, ideally within financial services or asset/wealth management.

• Technical Skills:

  • Strong background in computer science concepts.

  • Expertise in relational and dimensional data modeling.

  • Experience with ETL/ELT tools and technologies such as Talend, Informatica, SSIS (a plus).

  • Proficiency in building APIs and calculators using cutting-edge cloud and big data technologies like Snowflake, Fivetran, DBT, etc.

  • Understanding of Master data management principles and their application.

• Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills with a penchant for tackling complex problems and designing scalable solutions.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

• Data Platform Thinking: Ability to design and develop data pipelines with a focus on security, scalability, uptime, and reliability.

• Able to effectively communicate the benefits and constraints of technology solutions to technology partners, business partners, and team members.
