We’re looking for an Environment Health & Safety Program Manager to join our Facilities team. The Safety Program Manager is a critical role at Collectors. You will support our growing global Operations team in creating a best in class workplace safety program. As the face of safety at Collectors, you’ll set the standard for creating a Best in Class safety program and work environment. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, can-do team player who thrives in a fast paced and collaborative environment. You consistently maintain an organized and highly functional work environment and use your top-notch time management skills to stay one step ahead on projects big and small. You ask questions early and often and regularly seek out feedback on how to improve your work and the workplace. You’re a results driven doer who can function equally well in the weeds and at a high level, quickly pivoting focus as needed to get the job done. 

This is a full-time role working onsite at our Santa Ana, CA headquarters. You will report directly to the Senior Director of Real Estate & Workplace and work closely with the Operations, Security, and People functions.

What You’ll Do

  • Safety Program Development: Develop and implement comprehensive safety programs tailored to the specific needs of the industrial facility.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with all applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations and ensure the organization's compliance with them.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct regular safety assessments and risk evaluations to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Training and Education: Provide training and education to employees on safety protocols and procedures, including emergency response, equipment operation, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Incident Investigation: Investigate accidents, near misses, and incidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Safety Audits and Inspections: Conduct routine safety inspections and audits of the workplace to identify safety violations and areas for improvement.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Develop and maintain emergency response plans and coordinate drills to ensure all employees know how to respond to various emergency situations.
  • Safety Equipment Management: Manage the procurement, maintenance, and distribution of safety equipment and gear, including PPE, safety signage, and fire extinguishers.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records and documentation related to safety, incidents, inspections, and compliance for reporting and regulatory purposes.
  • Safety Culture Promotion: Promote a culture of safety and awareness among employees, encouraging them to proactively identify and report safety concerns.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in safety management, industrial hygiene, occupational health and safety, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience managing safety for a mid-sized light industrial operation (400+ employees)
  • Attention to detail, research, organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexible, adaptable, realistic, practical, calm, pragmatic, and agile
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Solution mindset with the ability to make independent decisions regarding planning, organizing, and scheduling work
  • Tech-savvy with experience with Mac OS, Google Docs, MS Office, and other web-based applications
  • Preferred: OSHA30 or OSHA40 Certification
  • Preferred: Ergonomics experience and/or certifi
