The Michigan State Lottery was established under the authority of Public Act 239 of 1972 to generate funds to support Michigan’s public-school system and generates revenue through the sale of Lottery tickets at retail locations and over the internet. Profits from lottery revenue are used to supplement state education programs.
This position leads the maintenance, review, analysis, and reconciliation of up to $50 million advertising fund expenditures for traditional and digital gaming platforms. The position audits, analyzes and provides Procurement Budget level approval of all procurement documents in state-wide accounting system (SIGMA) ensuring proper classification and line allocation. Position assists with approval and release of financial journal entries in state-wide accounting system (SIGMA), as well as vendor invoice and inter-agency payment documents. This position serves as a financial data coordinator for various FOIA and interagency financial data requests.

Examples of duties
Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree or higher in any major with at least 12 semester (18 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: accounting, finance, or economics.
Experience
Four years of professional experience equivalent to a Financial Analyst; including two years equivalent to a Financial Analyst P11, Accountant P11, or Auditor P11 or one year equivalent to a Financial Analyst 12, Accountant 12, or Auditor 12.
Qualifications
Possession of a Certificate in Public Accounting (CPA) may be substituted for one year of Financial Analyst P11 experience.

Civil Service Rule 2-7 requires that all persons who are not currently state employees submit to and pass a pre-employment drug test. This urine sample test must be administered within 24 hours, or your offer may be rescinded. An applicant must remain at the testing site until the testing process is completed and permitted up to 3 hours to provide a sufficient specimen. It is considered a refusal to test if an applicant fails to provide a sufficient amount of urine for a drug test within the allowed time.
