Responsibilities
The Director of the Product Management team at Berkley Management Protection will have responsibilities in the development of vertical expertise regarding product, pricing and user experience focused on the Private and Not-for-Profit Company Management Liability product suite. The job will require research and analysis of BMP’s competitive position to support profitable growth across the portfolio. Reporting to the Head of Product, the role will work closely with the CUO, Regional Vice Presidents and cross functional resources to drive implementation and execution that delivers superior agent and insured experiences. The position will be based in West Hartford, CT and requires approximately 10% travel.
- Formulate product position, pricing recommendations, underwriting rules, UX and associated best practices
- Develop new products suited for digital business model to disrupt industry standards
- Partner with Regional Vice Presidents and underwriters on local strategies, go to market campaigns and key agency relationships
- Monitor and formulate recommendations on emerging issues and trends impacting profitability and appetite
- Establish partnerships across Operating Unit and serve as liaison on Product issues
- Opportunity to manage line(s) of business, develop vertical expertise and drive strategic initiatives
- Communicate key information to Operating Unit staff in a timely and efficient manner
- Collaborate with senior leadership and field underwriting leadership to adjust practices and protocols for operational efficiency

Qualifications
- Minimum of 3+ years of Professional, Small Commercial or Personal Lines Product or Analytics Experience
- Bachelors degree in Buienss Management/ Administration, Mathmatics, Finance, actuarial or Economics
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans that are driven by empirical analysis and include stated goals and delivery dates
- Experience with data analysis, financial models and interpretation of trends/analysis to deliver formal recommendations
- Strong Project Management skills
- Execution oriented with attention to details driven by natural curiosity and competitive spirit
- Must have strong written and verbal communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Past experience working collaboratively with Operations, IT, Actuary and Field to improve operational efficiency
