Purpose

Coverage for primary receptionist. Provide reception services, including answering multi-line phone, accepting deliveries, and directing visitors to appropriate Graduate School staff or other University offices. Answering emails and forwarding to appropriate staff for handling. Assist with Graduate School imaging processes by logging and verifying student record documents. Gather information and provide routine statistics for documents logged at the front desk. Provide backup to the backup receptionist during breaks and absences. Relay institutional policies and procedures to students.

Responsibilities

  • Coverage for primary receptionist. Provide reception services, including answering multi-line phone, accepting deliveries, and directing visitors to appropriate Graduate School staff or other University offices.

  • Maintaining supplies. Tasks to be assigned by supervisor.

Required Qualifications

High school graduation or GED. Three years of clerical experience. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to multitask in an environment with frequent interruptions. Ability and willingness to work independently and as a team member. Strong written and oral communication skills. Must be reliable and professional at all times. Ability to maintain regular office hours and have regular, punctual attendance. Excellent communication skills verbal and written. Prior reception/front desk experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience providing reception services in a professional setting. Experience with clerical functions associated with sensitive and confidential information. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks under noisy office conditions. Demonstrated ability to use computers and Microsoft Word and Excel.

Hourly Rate

$20.00

Working Conditions

  • Attire: Business Casual

  • Standard Office Environment, Use of manual dexterity, Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation

Work Shift

  • Hours per week - 40

  • 8 - 5 schedule

  • Hours will be set per the supervisor. This position is on campus and requires temporary employee to be in person every day.
