UnspecifiedHamilton Sundstrand Corporation d/b/a Collins Aerospace an opening for an Associate Director, Systems Engineering in Rockford, IL. This is a hybrid position; must be in the Rockford, IL office 1-2 days per week; may work from home 3-4 days per week.
Travel will be required approximately once per quarter for travelling to customer sites for technology development progress discussions or other Collins Aerospace facilities. Travel will be domestic and international, including potential visits to Canada, France, and/or Germany.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Develops and owns strategy for complex engineering systems over their life cycles.
- Directs requirements management, reliability, logistics, and coordination with other teams and disciplines.
- Leads coordination of system and control engineering and other engineering disciplines, organizational studies, and project management.
- Directs the decomposition of customer specifications and system level requirements into subsystem and piece part requirements, and generation of verification criteria and plans for the requirements.
- Ensures that all aspects of a project or system are considered and integrated into the whole.
- Directs activities to optimize resources, prioritize spending, and ensure that business objectives are met.
Required Qualifications:
- At least a master’s degree or its equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field and at least 10 years of experience as a Systems Engineer working with electrical sub-systems development, including architecture design and safety analysis (e.g., Chapter 24, aircraft utilities, power distribution units, actuation systems). In the alternative, a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field and at least 12 years of progressive experience as a Systems Engineer working with electrical sub-systems development, including architecture design and safety analysis (e.g., Chapter 24, aircraft utilities, power distribution units, actuation systems) would be acceptable.
- At least 10 years of experience with aircraft electrical systems including electrical systems design and integration for Primary Power Distribution and/or Secondary Distribution.
- At least 5 years of experience working with DO-160, DO-178 and DO-254 with respect to aircraft certification requirements.
- At least 5 years of experience working with Aerospace Recommended Practice (ARP) 4754 and ARP 4761.
