Our Day Treatment (DT) program seeks a passionate Day Treatment Counselor/Therapist. This role provides mental health therapy support in  groups as well as individual interventions for children and adolescents in the DT Program. This role also provides  a unique combination of client monitoring, supervision, and behavioral interventions. Whether you are a licensed social worker or counselor, the Alternative School therapist also serves as a bridge between Day Treatment and public school settings, through clinical work multiple placements. 

Working under the direction of the Director of Day Treatment, this position is primarily responsible for:

  • Provides outpatient individual, group and family therapy to children, adolescents, and families in a variety of settings
  • Performs diagnostic assessments as necessary.
  • Develops client-centered ISPs, monitors and reviews progress.
  • Arranges appointments and collateral contacts, and coordinates therapeutic efforts. Links, coordinates families to resources
  • Advocates on behalf of the client
  • Provides client monitoring and behavioral interventions including the use of physical holds as needed and according to Crossroads’ policy, OHMHAS and JCAHO

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or Counseling required, Master's preferred.
  • Must be licensed in Ohio as LPC/LSW; LPCC/LISW preferred
  • Must have knowledge of child and family development; individual/group/family counseling techniques; solution-focused, short-term treatment techniques; and mental health/chemical dependency diagnoses (DSM-IV/DSM-V).
  • Experience working in de-escalating crises is highly desirable
  • Certified in or willing to become certified in physical holds
  • Demonstrated ability to develop trusting relationships with youth
  • Possess valid Ohio Driver’s license (4 points of less) reliable transportation and carry automobile insurance with minimum liability limits of $100,000/$300,000 and property damage of $50,000
