This position works overnight, 12-hour shifts; 6 am-6 pm, or 6 pm - 6 am.
Job Description
This facility is a highly automated meat processing/packaging facility located in Kansas City, KS.
This position works overnight, 12-hour shifts; 6 am-6 pm, or 6 pm - 6 am. Rotating a two-week schedule with a 3-day weekend off every other week.
The pay for this position is between $29.00 to $41.45/hr
(Pay commensurate with experience)
With little to no supervision, provide maintenance support to ensure the safe and effective operation of ammonia refrigeration systems, HCFC systems, hot water, compressed air, and steam systems. Must be able to safely apply knowledge and troubleshooting skills to all assigned production equipment, and the ability to effectively interact with all plant personnel to accomplish plant and individual goals.
Responsibilities:
- Performing and consulting on robust preventative maintenance and refrigeration repairs.
- Expertly performing emergency mechanical or electrical repairs. and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, pump, pressure, and hydraulic plant equipment.
- Understanding boiler theory, RETA Operator I, and IIAR Basic NH3 Refrigeration schematics will be required for this role.
- Must be able to pass a HAZ-Mat physical and pass the training to be certified as an Emergency Responder Technician Level and participate on the Emergency Response Team.
- Must assist and support the training and development of more junior Refrigeration Technicians.
- Also responsible for minimizing downtime due to equipment and system failure.
- Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements: The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 lbs. occasionally.
- Ability to stand on a hard surface for up to 12 hours per day
- Ability to work in confined and tall spaces, walk, climb, utilize a ladder, operate a lift, bend, and stoop
- Repetitive gripping, pushing, and pulling
- Frequent overhead work
- Temperatures inside the plant may vary from -25 degrees to over 100 degrees; outside work will be required.
- Basic math skills: percentages, fractions, and measurements
Requirements:
- 1 year of refrigeration experience(anhydrous ammonia)required, RETA 1 license preferred but not required.
