Job Details:

Purpose

The Meadows Center for Preventing Educational Risk is seeking a Social Science/Humanities Research Associate to assist with a federally-funded research project during the 2024-2025 school year. This position is full-time and expected to continue for 1 year with the possibility of renewal. We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about research, knowledgeable about reading instruction, and interested in working with students and collaborating with schools. This position will be on campus at The University of Texas at Austin. Travel to multiple schools in the Round Rock and Leander area will also be required.

Responsibilities

  • Support implementing a structured reading intervention with high fidelity and quality multiple times a week.

  • Research tasks including data collection and entry, coding, and materials preparation / management.

  • Attending team meetings and collaboration with research staff at the University of Texas and school partners in Round Rock and Leander.

  • Problem-Solving to support a wide range of students with different academic and behavioral needs.

  • Complete human subjects research training and YMCA Youth Protection training successfully.

  • Attending and supporting professional development training sessions.

  • Additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree. Four years of relevant experience. Experience working with children. Understanding of Literacy Instruction. Research experience or interest in research. Strong communication skills, teamwork, and collaboration.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree and two years of relevant experience. Teaching and / or research experience preferred.

Salary Range

$60,000
