About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Field Technician with a strong IT background and in-depth understanding of networking and cabling to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in installing, terminating, and troubleshooting various types of cables, including Ethernet and fiber optics, to ensure optimal network performance. This role involves traveling to client restaurant locations to install and maintain our proprietary hardware systems, ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Hardware Installation: Install and configure Peppr's hardware solutions, including point-of-sale systems, kitchen printers, cash drawers, payment devices, and other related equipment, at the restaurant sites.
Network Setup: Design, install, test, and maintain cabling /wiring to support hardware installations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware and network connectivity issues promptly to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
Client Training: Provide on-site training to restaurant staff on the proper use and maintenance of installed hardware and software systems.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance activities, and troubleshooting steps, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and accessible.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, including the ability to lift and relocate equipment, work at heights, and operate in enclosed spaces when required.
Travel: Willingness to travel to client sites and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in network cabling and field technician roles, with proficiency in terminating and testing various cable types.
3+ years of experience with computer networking, including LAN/WAN configurations, IP addressing, and network protocols.
Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting equipment up to 30 pounds, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.
We’d also like to see:
Experience with installing and maintaining restaurant hardware systems.
Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and related peripherals.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for network cabling and infrastructure.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical clients.
Technical certifications (e.g., Certified Network Cable Installer) are a plus.
Compensation:
On Target Earnings: $70,000-100,000
Our salary ranges are based on market trends for our size and industry to ensuring competitive and equitable compensation. On Target Earnings encompasses base salary plus variable. The starting salary will be determined based on a number of factors, including experience level, skillset, and qualifications for the role.
