Education: Graduate of an approved school of Occupational Therapy.
Licensure/Certification: Indiana State licensure is required. Must be current in BLS/CPR.
Experience: Experience preferred.
Home Care Specific Requirements:
Must provide proof of current insurance against liability for personal injury, death or property damage that may arise due to aide’s ownership, maintenance, and operation of automobile.
Must provide proof of valid driver’s license and renewals as mandated.
Must provide own transportation to and from patient homes.
Mental/Physical Effort: Close attention to detail of procedures, technique, and positioning is required at all times. Ability to work unsupervised and capability for quick decision-making. Demands lifting/transporting of patients and lifting/moving of equipment. Requires ability to maneuver in close quarters and around equipment. Demands frequent or prolonged standing, sitting, stooping and bending. Requires normal (or corrected) vision and hearing. The work performed is varied in nature and requires prolonged periods of close concentration to details and accuracy. Must be able to cope with family emotional stress. Must be able to listen, problem-solve, investigate, and control stressful situations. Requires good communication skills, good judgments, diplomacy, and the ability to read, give, understand, and follow written and oral instructions. Requires moderate physical effort. Requires mobility, reaching, bending, grasping, lifting, pushing, pulling, and fine hand coordination.
