Position Details:

Summary of Duties
As the Extension Coordinator, you are responsible for providing oversight and leadership for the Urban Ecology Program. This including originating and/or developing formal education programs related to Stormwater Center activities, Community  Integrated Pest Management (IPM), urban farming program for delivery to urban home dwellers, land managers, gardeners, municipalities, nursery managers, landscape managers, urban foresters, community and commercial horticulturalists and others. You bring specialized subject matter knowledge and the ability to coordinate with other research and extension programs and other program constituents to ensure the program and activities meet guidelines/expectations/objectives/policies& procedures of Washington State University (WSU) Extension and project programming under the direction of the WSU Extension faculty. Job function, scope and percent time attributed are adjusted to match available funding.

Stormwater Center | 45%

Research Compilation: Collate all known publications, articles, and active research related to 6PPD and 6PPD-quinone along with other stormwater center needs. Database Creation: Organize and input data into a platform approved by the Department of Ecology. Collaboration: Work in close coordination with the Stormwater BMP Guidance Document contract team to share literature reviews and reduce redundant efforts. Routine Updates: Maintain and update the database biweekly to reflect current research developments. Organize and manage partner information, communication and outreach. Assist in development of outreach materials and collect feedback and impacts of program.

  • Event and meeting coordination and facilitation

Community IPM and Urban Agriculture | 45%

Co-develop and create outreach materials for pest management professionals, community, commercial horticulturalists, urban farmers and gardeners such as fact sheets, Extension bulletins, and web content. Coordinate outreach activities such as webinars, workshops and Extension events. Assist and lead field research and data collection of applied research and demonstration at the  Puyallup Research and Extension Center (PREC).

Administration, Reports, and Recordkeeping | 5%

Purchase, maintain, and inventory supplies and materials used in the Urban Ecology and Storm Water programs.
 

Complete and submit all reports, evaluation, tracking, expenses, time slip, TA’s and other project and position related paperwork and presentations in a timely manner and in compliance with Funding Agency, University, and State/Federal requirements.

Other | 5%

Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Information:

This is a full time (100% FTE), temporary position. This position is overtime eligible.
 

Temporary End Date:

This is a temporary position that is renewed on an annual basis. Renewal is dependent on the need for extension and/or if additional funding is secured to extend employment.

Monthly Salary:

$4,050.92 - $5,000.00 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications

In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.
