Staff Accountant

Responsibilities:

• Review financial statement for accuracy and compliance
• Prepare and enter journal entries into Quickbooks, or other department chosen software, in accordance with GAAP
• Manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, and sales tax process for multiple locations
• Prepare account reconciliations for accounts to assess validity, correctness and appropriateness of balances; prepare adjusting entries when required
• Assist with month end closing, meeting processing and reporting deadlines
• Recommend ways to reduce costs and enhance revenue
• Verify that all transactions comply with company financial policies and procedures
• Other duties as requested, performing such other accounting or administrative tasks as needed

Requirements

Job Accountabilities:

• Must have the ability to prioritize and work independently with minimal direct supervision.
• Must have excellent communication skills, customer service and problem-solving skills.
• Must meet monthly deadlines to support accurate company reporting.
• Must adhere to accounting expectations expressed by the Accounting Manager

Physical Demands:

• Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, bend, and/or lift
• Regularly required to reach with hands and arms.
• Regularly required to talk or listen.
• Sometimes required to lift heavy packages (20 pounds or greater).
• Finger dexterity and hand coordination required.

Job Qualifications:

• Minimum Desired Education: Bachelor’s degree: accounting preferred, minor in business is a huge plus.
• Minimum Desired Experience: 5+ years
