About the role

Your Role and The Team

ING’s Payment and Settlement Services (“PSS”) aims to further mature, develop and expand ING’s state of the art payments platforms and settlements services. The PSS focusses on delivering payments and settlement services, meeting the expectations of ING’s business lines and beyond, whilst ensuring the basics: safe, secure, compliant, and reliable. The PSS is an independent unit within ING’s CTO domain, reporting directly into ING’s Chief Technology Officer.

The PSS is responsible for providing standardized payments and settlements services to multiple ING business lines (WB, Retail, and others). There is a clear ambition to also look for external commercialization of our payment platforms.

The PSS changes the organization towards a true Services-based organization and to deliver on ambitious promises, we have organized ourselves into a strong strategic and commercially focused organization around our eight services, where our squads working on those products are enabled by clear prioritization, accountability, and capabilities. And right there, the Senior

Customer Journey Expert ‘Squad Master’ Payments comes in.

The PSS Product team provides the Single European Payments Area Credit Transfer services (SCT). This includes the existing form of payments in singles and batches and the ‘new’ Instant Payments which is a payment which is processed within 10 seconds 24x7x365.
The CJE Squad Master is a new role within ING replacing the Product Owner Role. PSS works according to Agile principles in self-organizing teams. Together with other CJE’s you have an end-to-end responsibility for the development, and you have the main responsibility for the delivery and change. You will work with approx. 16 SEPA TECH squads. As Senior CJE Squad Master, you'll determine with your Services Change team of 7 CJE's what is being worked on within the various squads (in consultation with your Product Lead), responsible for meeting the Services KPI’s and decide what the key priorities are.

The overall SCT team of 25 FTE is allocated in the Netherlands, Romania and the Philippines. They work together in country overarching sub teams: Services Run, Services Change and Services Onboarding.
The Senior CJE 'Squad Master' guides the ‘Service Change’ team with seven other Squad Masters Globally. As a senior, you have a view on the strategic developments and translate this with your (Product/TECH/OPS) colleagues into an SCT roadmap for 1-3 years to support our ING countries. Hierarchically you report to the Product Lead SEPA Credit Transfer in the Netherlands. The details of the collaboration between ING Netherlands and ING Hubs Manilla are contractually defined.
