Pay Rate: $19.00/hour

About the Role: Substitute Teacher/ Instructor

• Educate students with special needs, ages 18+, in a 3- 4 month post-secondary certificate program.
• Utilize lesson plans and activities for each class provided within the established and approved curriculum.
• Assist with relaying classroom theory and supervising students at externship sites, assisting them to apply what was learned in the classroom.
• Teaches curriculum related to entry-level culinary arts, material handler, animal care, healthcare operations, and or hospitality.  On occasion, financial literacy, social skills trainings and or daily life skills.
• Administers assessments, assigns homework, and monitors lab participation

What are the requirements?

• High school diploma or GED required. Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred with a preference for credentials within Special Education, Vocational Education, Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
• Qualified instructors will meet the minimum state (FLDOE/CIE) educational requirements plus one year of job experience related to the content taught.  It is preferred that classroom instructors have some experience demonstrating teaching and classroom management skills.
• Experience working with adults with disabilities is preferred.
• Valid FL driver’s license and successful level II background check, physical and drug screen.
• Must be 21 years older or older.
