Job Description

Under the direction of the Dean, the Administrative and Business Coordinator provides comprehensive administrative, operational and business support to the College of Education and Human Performance (CEHP) Dean’s Office. This position requires the ability to exercise discretion, independent judgment, and decision-making in matters of significance, as well as the supervision of assigned staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate the day-to-day administrative operations

  • Plans, develops, implements, coordinates, and monitors programs or services.

  • Formulate, interpret, and implement management policies and operational practices; recommend and enforce guidelines, policies, rules, and regulations.

  • Monitor compliance with university, college, and departmental policies and procedures.

  • Participate in the planning and execution of administrative operations; assist in resolving operational challenges.

  • Assist in developing, monitoring, and reconciling budgets; prepare related reports and documentation.

  • Manages cash handling activities and purchasing, serving as a liaison with finance, payroll, and human resources units.

  • Coordinate and maintain records retention systems and ensure the availability of up-to-date reference and resource materials.

  • Serves as a resource to principal investigator(s) for grant development, administration, and reporting

  • Assists with the management of financial transactions, including assigning costs to appropriate accounts and projects.

  • Monitors and controls operating expenditures and makes projections.

  • Assists in the development of annual budget documents.

Minimum Requirements

Education - Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience - Five years of related experience

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Knowledge of – Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software.

Skills in- Skills in organizational with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Skills in – Skills in excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration.

Ability to – Ability to demonstrated discretion, independent judgment, and initiative in decision-making.

Ability to – Ability to work cooperatively with diverse groups and individuals.
