The Med/Surg Unit is located on the 2nd floor at Vanderbilt Tullahoma-Harton Hospital (VTHH).  It is a Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Unit. There are 30 beds on the unit and the Nurse to patient ratio is 1:5-6.

The environment on our unit is friendly, patient-focused, and based on teamwork. We care for adult and pediatric patients from infants to geriatrics who are being treated for a variety of medical diagnoses.  Our patients are unique because they live in our communities. One of the perks of working on our unit is our willingness to nurture our new graduate nurses. Our nurses are successful because they have a support system, are treated with kindness, and develop a sense of teamwork.

We orient new nurses to our unit by providing a six-to-eight-week unit-specific orientation with a dedicated preceptor.

WE ENCOURAGE PROFESSIONAL GROWTH.

If your career goal is to gain strong clinical experiences, the VTHH Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Unit can help with this by exposing you to a variety of diagnoses and providing you with the skill set to build upon.  We are always interested in expanding our team of RNs and LPNs.
