Job DetailsJob Location: Fire Fighter Sales and Svcs Co - Warrendale, PA 15086Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: 2 Year DegreeTravel Percentage: Up to 25%Job Shift: DayJob Category: ConstructionJob Summary: The CAD Operator and Low Voltage Systems Designer is responsible for using software to create 2D and 3D designs for fire protection and other low voltage system type projects.  The individual shall participate in the coordination for the associated tasks required to establish timelines and budgets, as well as solve problems during the entire project process.  Majority of these responsibilities will be performed in the office with an occasional site survey when required. They will support both internal and external customers with system-related questions related to the designs they produce.

Create complete drawing and submittal packages for low voltage system projects as directed by the Construction Manager
Collaborate with the Construction Manager to develop and maintain drawing schedules and provide departmental support during the project process.
Ensure all documents and designs are complete within budget constraints.
Attend weekly meetings with Projects and Sales teams to coordinate efforts and share updates.
Perform final material take-offs for devices and panel components to generate accurate bill of materials and update associated work orders in project management software.
Prepare Owner Documentation packages, manage drawing storage and filing, and create system service files.
Provide estimating support and technical expertise to the sales debarment as needed.
Conduct field surveys to gather site data and verify system requirements.
Maintain accurate time sheets for proper time allocation and project costing.
Demonstrate punctuality and consistently provide a full day’s work.

 QualificationsJob Requirements:

Primarily works in a normal office environment with standard business equipment.
Associates degree or equivalent experience in Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) or related field
Strong computer skills with extensive knowledge of design software, especially AutoCAD and Visio
Ability to sit for extended periods and use hands to operate computer equipment efficiently
Capability to make sound decisions based on design specifications and code requirements
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively to solve problems and establish project timelines and budgets
Solid understanding of mathematics, engineering principles, and industry standards
Willingness to travel occasionally to project sites as required
Proficiency in windows environment and Microsoft office suite
Reliable transportation is required to travel between office and field locations
Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong time management skills
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities
A team player with leadership qualities and a proactive, motivated attitude
Eagerness to learn and stay current with industry ad engineering standards
Flexibility to work overtime as needed to meet project deadlines and milestones

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

Primarily works in a normal office environment with standard business equipment.
May occasionally work offsite at various industrial locations with differing conditions.
Potential exposure to industrial environments, including noise and variable weather.
Must be able to climb ladders safely as part of job duties.
Ability to lift 25+ pounds as needed.
Ability to sit for extended periods while performing computer-based tasks.
