Applications Engineer - Industrial X-ray Systems

In the Industrial X-Ray Systems division, we develop and produce radioscopic and CT inspection systems for a wide range of industrial applications in the electronics, aerospace or automotive industries.

The Applications Engineer – industrial X-ray systems role will focus on the electronics sector including but not limited to semiconductor and SMT technologies.  This vacancy will be based in the SF Bay vicinity.

 

Task description:

• The application engineer supports the Sales team during pre-sales customer meetings, technical product demonstrations and discussions, and in post-sales installation, set-up and training, and ongoing technical support.  The Applications Engineer is the technical “voice” in support of Comet Yxlon’s Computed Tomography (CT) and Digital Radiography (DR) systems.
• Fundamental optimization of application methods already in use
• Consulting support for project execution and acceptance
• Documentation of application results and preparation of application reports
• Support in the preparation of marketing materials
• Demonstration of DR and CT systems online, during in-house customer visits and at trade shows
• Internal and external application training
• Application services for strategic customers
• Customer support after commissioning
• Travel 40%

 

Requirements, Know How, and Competencies.

• Education: bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• Three (3) years relevant work experience preferred.

• Basic knowledge of X-ray technology and Computed Tomography (CT)
• Preference for knowledge in the field of industrial imaging X-ray processes focusing on Semiconductor and Surface Mount Technology (SMT)
• Demonstrates high customer orientation.
• Works effectively in an integrated teamwork setting.
• Written and verbal fluency in English
• Professional level communication skills to effectively interact with internal teams and external customers.
• Must be authorized to work in the USA or ability to obtain work authorization.
