Medical Assistant-Dermatology

We are seeking a Medical Assistant to join our Dermatology department. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, patient-focused professional who thrives in a fast-paced clinical setting. The Medical Assistant will support physicians and patients by performing clinical and administrative duties, ensuring the highest quality of care.

Responsibilities:

1. Patient Preparation:
   • Greet and prepare patients for examinations, ensuring they are comfortable.
   • Take and document vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, heart rate, temperature).
   • Review patient medical history and document symptoms or concerns.
   • Assist with minor dermatologic procedures such as skin biopsies, cryotherapy, and excisions.
   • Prepare and sterilize equipment and supplies for procedures.
   • Handle scheduling, referrals, and insurance authorizations
   • Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment following safety protocols
2. Assist in Dermatologic Procedures:
   • Provide support during patient treatments (e.g., laser therapies, phototherapy, acne treatments).
   • Apply dressings, bandages, or ointments as instructed by the dermatologist.
   • Prepare and maintain patient records in the EMR system

• Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred, but not required)
• Previous experience in Dermatology or a similar specialty is preferred but not required
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and electronic medical records (EMR)
• Bi-lingual in Mandarin is preferred
