Job Summary:  

 

The Quality Coordinator plays a key role in supporting Sheridan’s Quality Management System (QMS), helping ensure product and process compliance with customer specifications and internal standards. This position works closely with site leadership, operations, and quality teams to develop inspection procedures, maintain documentation, and support continuous improvement initiatives aligned with Sheridan’s ISO standards and core values.

   

  

Duties/Responsibilities:   

  • Assist in developing and maintaining documentation and procedures to sustain Sheridan’s ISO compliance, under the direction of the VP of Operations and Quality Manager.
  • Maintain and control production samples for comparison to newly printed products.
  • Perform work-in-process audits and quality testing throughout production.
  • Maintain quality records in compliance with Sheridan QMS requirements (e.g., ISO-9001, PIRs, testing reports).
  • Support special testing projects as assigned. 
  • Escalate production-related quality concerns to appropriate personnel for resolution.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure timely and effective communication.
  • Identify, propose, and implement process improvements to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
  • Model and uphold Sheridan’s core values in daily work and interactions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

 

 

Basic Qualifications:   

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Knowledge of arithmetic as well as a strong command of English, including grammar, spelling, and basic composition.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while meeting deadlines.
  • Practical knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, materials, and quality documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to complete work accurately, neatly, and on time.
  • Demonstrated initiative, problem-solving skills, teamwork, and commitment to workplace safety and company policies.
  • Ability to work overtime, alternate shifts, and maintain dependable attendance.

 

 

 

Desired Skills and Abilities: 

  • Previous experience in a quality-related role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with book manufacturing or book quality standards is a plus.

 

 

Physical Requirements  

 

This role is based in a manufacturing environment and requires:

  • Frequent exposure to noise, dust, and machinery.
  • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods on hard surfaces.
  • Regular use of hands for handling materials and operating equipment.
  • Physical movement including bending, twisting, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

 

Travel Requirements   

  • Occasional travel for company meetings and training.
  • May require overnight stays.
