DESCRIPTION

Under the supervision of the Executive Director of Special Education, and the Instructional Facilitator for Elementary Schools, this Board Certified Behavior Supervisor position works closely with Department of Special Education staff including Registered Behavior Technicians, teachers, administrators, curriculum staff and families to provide instructional support for students K-5th grade with disabilities to support a learning community where we expand opportunities and access, remove barriers, and foster an inclusive environment as per the HCPSS Strategic Plan Mission.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must meet all qualifications below to be considered for the vacancy.

Education:

• Master's degree from an accredited college or university.

Certification/Licensure:

• Hold a current Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification issued by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) and have completed the BACB 8-Hour Supervision Training required to supervise Registered Behavior Technicians.

• Hold a valid Behavior Analyst License issued by the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists.

Experience:

• Two years of experience designing and implementing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) programming, conducting data analyses, and training and leading staff which may include Registered Behavior Technicians, paraeducators, or other instructional support staff.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Master's degree or higher in education or a behavioral science field to include psychology and other subjects related to the field of behavioral science.

• Graduate degree or post graduate certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis.

• Experience supervising Registered Behavior Technicians, paraeducators, or other instructional support staff.

• Experience providing direct services aligned with ABA to persons with disabilities at the elementary school level within a public education setting.

• Experience providing professional development, facilitating workshops, and/or teaching at the university level.

• Experience in a leadership role or successful completion of leadership courses/training.
