Job Description
Great Basin College is seeking a student worker to support the School of Industrial Technology and Workforce Development with a variety of administrative and customer service functions. This position provides front-office support to faculty, staff, students, and visitors.
Programs supported by this department include:
Welding Technology
Diesel Technology
Industrial Maintenance
Electrical Technology
Instrumentation Technology
Machining
Land Surveying
Contract Training
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Answering incoming calls and route them to appropriate staff members.
Assist with the check-in process for student appointments.
Welcome and assist students, staff, faculty, and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
Perform general clerical duties including filing, copying, organizing documents.
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front office area.
Monitor office supplies, restock items as needed, and report inventory shortages.
Assist support staff with preparation for meetings, open houses and events (materials, setup support, sign-in preparation)
Monitor and manage the front-desk email inbox
Other duties as needed and assigned
Required Skills:
Currently enrolled as a student at Great Basin College in a minimum of 6 credits for the semester and maintain a 2.0 GPA
Must qualify for Work Study or RSP through Student Financial Services
Maintain good academic standing if enrolled in school
Be sensitive to the needs of a diverse student body and respect student privacy
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizations skills and attention to detail
Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially
Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Salary:
$15.00 per hour
Hours:
Up to 19 hours per week with a maximum of 79.5 hours per month.
