POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Senior Philanthropy Consultant for SwedishAmerican Health Foundation (SAHF) is a dynamic and results-driven leader responsible for developing and executing comprehensive fundraising strategies that inspire engagement, cultivate donor relationships and secure philanthropic support to fund life-saving investments that advance remarkable health care at UW Health in northern Illinois (UWH).
As a key member of the team, this individual will play a lead role in expanding the Foundation’s impact by overseeing and managing a comprehensive development strategy with clear goals and priorities. This position’s primary focus will be on mid-to-major level gifts, planned giving, donor relations, fundraising campaigns and strategic initiatives to ensure sustained support for SAHF and UWH initiatives. Core responsibilities include donor identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship, as well as corporate and foundation relations, grant identification/writing, special events, annual and capital campaigns and CRM/donor database utilization. The Senior Philanthropy Consultant partners closely with the Executive Director to identify new opportunities, implement strategic plans and execute special projects that enhance donor engagement and philanthropic growth.
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
A Bachelor’s Degree is required.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or a related field preferred.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
Certification as a Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) preferred.
A valid Illinois driver’s license required.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Experience:
- A minimum of five years of relevant experience in resource development/fundraising, marketing/communications, or a comparable field is required.
- Familiarity with the philanthropic community in Northern Illinois and experience in healthcare fundraising are preferred.
