The Team:
Launch into a Midwifery position that will deliver variety and growth within our Maternity Service. Relocation support will be negotiated if you are considering a move across the ocean to our island of Tasmania.
- The RHH is the tertiary referral centre for Tasmania, we have around 2000 births each year.

- Looking for an Associate Midwifery Unit Manager (AMUM) to work within our inpatient space including; birth suite, antenatal/postnatal ward and our pregnancy assessment space
The Role:
The Associate Midwifery Unit Manager (AMUM) is an experienced midwife who, within the maternity unit:
- Works in partnership with the Midwife Unit Manager (MUM) and other senior staff, to ensure the efficient and effective provision of care based on best practice principles within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework.
- Assists the MUM with the planning and management of staff and resources and provides operational leadership through the coordination of the day to day patient care activities, including patient flow.
You will need:
- Demonstrated clinical experience in the relevant practice area, with the capacity to provide clinical leadership, exercise professional judgement and initiative and work with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to understand the business of the unit/service in delivering the best outcomes within available resources, including a demonstrated understanding of patient flow principles and discharge planning in the pursuit of patient/client goals within a contemporary healthcare framework
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to the evaluation, innovation and development of services provided by the unit/service and the review of clinical practice policy, procedures and protocols.

Details of appointment:
Permanent part time, shift worker (fully rotational) position, working 64 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $106,570 to $112,440 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type

Eligibility:

- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Midwife
