Job Summary:
The Patient Coordinator is the first point of contact for patients at our imaging center and plays a vital role in ensuring a smooth and compassionate patient experience. This position requires excellent interpersonal skills, empathy, and the ability to manage multiple tasks with a high level of professionalism. The Patient Coordinator will be responsible for greeting and assisting patients, managing imaging appointment workflows, handling cancellations, and efficiently backfilling open appointment slots.
Key Responsibilities:

Warmly greet and check in patients, ensuring a welcoming and supportive environment.

Coordinate daily imaging schedules and patient workflows to optimize operational efficiency.

Manage appointment scheduling, including new appointments, reschedules, and cancellations.

Actively monitor and backfill canceled appointments to maintain full scheduling capacity.

Serve as a liaison between patients, technologists, and referring offices to ensure timely communication and excellent service.

Provide patients with clear instructions and preparation guidelines for imaging procedures.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record system.

Handle patient concerns or inquiries with empathy and professionalism; escalate issues as needed.

Verify insurance information and ensure all required forms and consents are completed.

Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient front office and waiting area.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.

Minimum of 1–2 years experience in a healthcare or medical office setting, preferably in imaging or radiology.

Strong customer service skills with a warm, empathetic, and patient-focused demeanor.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Proficient in scheduling software, EMR systems, and basic office applications (e.g., Microsoft Office).
