About the role

As a Product Design Lead, you’ll strive to learn and understand our users’ needs, behaviors, and emotions to gather insights that inform product strategy and design. You will work on highly collaborative teams to solve complex challenges and create intuitive experiences. 

You will be responsible for creating intuitive user experiences at Flashpoint. The ideal candidate is a creative, passionate, pragmatic thinker that can identify opportunities to help teams solve problems and analyze customer behaviors to create innovative experiences. Ideal candidates will have experience in a diverse set of UX techniques. This professional will also play a pivotal role in ensuring that Design has a seat at the table throughout the product life cycle of cross-functional teams. The Lead Designer will work in tandem with stakeholders, engineers, and product managers to conduct research activities and be a user advocate to help teams make sound decisions.

We have a role for you if

  • You have partnered with a variety of teams to concept and implement compelling UX experiences that are cohesive, inclusive, and impactful
  • You can plan and lead UX activities to support strategic transformation initiatives as well as iterative improvements
  • You have leveraged design thinking to understand customer needs and evolve the customer experience
  • You are able to develop an in-depth understanding of customer experience using quantitative and qualitative insights
  • You have planned and led co-creation workshops with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities and design new experiences
  • You have set an example for the UX design approach used across design, managers, customer success, and other key partners and delivery teams
  • You can communicate vision and concepts clearly and persuasively for a variety of audiences, including executive-level
  • You have made recommendations to conduct planning, competitive analyses, and strategy; research and recommend new offerings and solutions based on business cases, roadmaps, and budgets.
  • You explore new design patterns and practices, enhancing methodological toolkits to enhance and improve the customer experience. 
  • You optimize digital experiences using UX best practices, trends, conversion metrics, testing and design patterns, and the delivery of digital assets.
  • You have created prototypes and wireframes to convey complex flows or ideas
  • You have managed multiple projects simultaneously and supported the team’s UX backlog
  • You have coached and guided other Product Designers and evolved the product design process to create high-quality designs informed by data, usability and design principles, and the best practices.

 

What you will achieve

  • Within 30 days
    • You will have created an open and trusted dialog with the pod that they are embedded in
    • You will have opened lines of communication with key stakeholders to learn their goals, outcomes, and metrics of success (a stakeholder map is an optional output)
    • You will have absorbed the institutional knowledge. Becoming familiar with the jargon and documentation inside the company will be important, so you have a shared language with your team.
  • Within 60 days 
    • You will have facilitated a design thinking workshop to identify the main pain points for their respective customer journey segment
    • You will have mapped out the current product experience to familiarize yourself with the current UX
    • You will have a basic understanding of the Flashpoint business model so that your designs can help shape it in the future
  • By 90 days
    • You have become fluent in the company systems. Having dove into the design system, Confluence, and Figma to better understand the information, data, files, and formats
    • You will have run a design critique within the UX team to gather feedback on work and/or ideas
