Job Summary
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Parts Assessment Technician will be responsible for inspecting various remanufactured engine components to ensure proper identification and quality. This role requires using necessary SAP software transactions for goods movement and inventory control.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Parts Assessment Technician will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:
- Using company documentation, identify various engine components by part number and confirm receipt into inventory.
- Using company documentation and tools, inspect and verify component quality and conformance to internal standards.
- Use care and attention when handling engine components.
- Skillfully use typical measurement tools used in the inspection of engine components: micrometers, calipers, indicators, and the like.
- Maintain attention to detail under varying circumstances.
- Maintain a neat, clean, and safe work environment.
- Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

HS Education or equivalent.

Experience in a manufacturing (assembly, quality) environment
X
Experience with IC engines
X
Experience with reading manufacturing drawings
X
Proficient in using measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges or the ability to learn.

Good computer skills and experience with SAP or similar systems are desirable
X
Experience in Quality control, Six Sigma certifications, or education preferred
LANGUAGE ABILITY:
Read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Write and speak simple sentences.
MATHEMATICAL ABILITY:
Add and subtract two digit numbers and multiply/divide with 10's and 100's. Perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.
REASONING ABILITY:
Apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
