Under general direction and guidance of the Senior Business Banking Manager and in partnership with relationship managers, lending assistants and the credit team. The primary function of a Small Business Lending Credit Analyst is to provide credit analysis for new loans and renewal requests, reviewing financial and collateral data, providing a cash flow analysis, analyzing risk factors, and maintaining adherence to bank policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Analyze and spread financial statements for use in underwriting and portfolio management and monitoring.
2. Perform business and personal financial statement analysis including spreads, income tax form analysis and underwriting charts.
3. Understand loan policy and small business guidelines and underwrite in a manner that meets expectations.
4. Pull credit reports from Sageworks.
5. In partnership with relationship managers, structure loans in a manner that manages and mitigates risk.
6. Compliance with any and all BSA/AML/CFT and Sanctions requirements set forth by Bank Policy and Procedure, including but not limited to timely completion of assigned training.

The position performs duties specific to the position and other functions as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position is not responsible for the supervision of staff.
ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY
The incumbent is in a non-confined office setting in which they are free to move about at will. In the course of performing the duties and responsibilities of this position spends time writing, speaking, listening, lifting (up to 25 pounds), sitting, typing on a computer keyboard, and standing, kneeling and reaching.
The incumbent for this position may operate any or all of the following: telephone, copy and fax machine, adding machine, computer and related printers.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
These specifications are guidelines based on the minimum experience required to perform the essential functions of the job. Individual abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines:
• High school diploma or GED; College degree in finance, accounting, or business management preferred.
• Required: Minimum of 12 hours of college-level accounting courses.
• Prior Bank Credit Analyst experience of 1-2 years preferred; experience in an accounting role for 1-2 years may be considered.
• Skills should include typing, PC, knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and ability to operate standard office equipment. Knowledge of the Sageworks loan origination platform is preferred.
• Extensive reading and computer usage required.
• Need excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Must work with exceptional attention to detail, and be able to perform duties accurately with multiple interruptions throughout the day.
• Must be able to work Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Some overtime and weekend work could be involved.
• Must have ability to work well and communicate effectively with other employees and customers and have the ability to follow.
