Our client, a leading federal defense contractor, is seeking a Jr. Java Software Engineer to support a new Restricted Ground Systems program in Scottsdale, AZ. This is a long-term contract opportunity supporting mission-critical systems for the US Warfighter.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain Java-based software applications
• Work within an Agile development environment
• Support RESTful interface development and enterprise software initiatives
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams in an AWS environment
• Participate in software builds, testing, and deployment activities

Required Qualifications:

• Active DoD TS/SCI clearance required at time of hire
• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related STEM field with 2+ years of experience, OR Master's degree with 6+ months of experience
• Experience with Java development, Maven, VSCode, REST APIs
• Familiarity with AWS development environments and GitLab
• Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills
• US Citizenship required due to government contract requirements

Preferred:

• Agile development experience
• Interest in continuous improvement and emerging technologies including AI
