Job Description Summary:

What you need to know about the role-

The Business Risk and Control Lead (BRCL) supports Product/Business owners in managing and mitigating risks. Embedded within PayPal's core business areas, the BRCL oversees daily risk management, conducts First Line of Defense (FLOD) testing, monitors Second Line of Defense (SLOD) compliance testing, and collaborates with business partners across all defense lines.

Meet our team-

As part of the Global Financial Crimes and Customer Protections (GFCCP) Business Strategy, Analytics and Planning organization, this role supports GFCCP by managing existing risk processes, risk identification, assessment, evaluation, and resolution of issues and incidents. In addition, this role is responsible for monitoring the Annual Risk and Compliance Plan output; risk reporting for products, functions, and jurisdictions; helping to manage and oversee second and third line testing engagements; and responding to regulator inquiries.

  • Identify potential breaches of regulatory obligations and ascertain whether key controls are in place to mitigate risk.
  • Collaborate with internal business units to develop remediation plans to resolve control weaknesses identified through testing.
  • Communicate your findings to key stakeholders and gain agreement for management actions plans.
  • Develop and maintain strong understanding of key risk management principles and PayPal products and services within your area of responsibility.

Your Day to Day

In your day to day role you will...

  • Perform control effectiveness monitoring and testing in accordance with internal procedures.
  • Assess and identify control gaps and risks for all new regulatory and product changes across the business.        
  • Conduct analysis of testing results and identify trends, potential areas of risk, and provide recommendations to mitigate those areas.
  • Assist with Internal and External Audit and Testing Engagements such as Second Line of Defense Reviews, Internal Audits, Regulatory Examinations, etc.
  • Provide regular updates to management regarding trends and changes recognized during day-to-day monitoring activities.
