The Facilities Engineer is responsible for providing support to engineering teams for the design, installation, operation, and upgrade of critical utility systems used in the manufacture of pharmaceutical products. Ensure Critical utilities are mission capable to support 24/7 plant operations. Ensure that engineering support is performed in compliance with cGMP Regulations and Company Policies/Procedures.

This position reports to Sr. Facilities Engineering Manager and is part of the Engineering Team located in Logan Utah and will be an on-site role.

What you will do:

  • Provide support to engineering team for the design, installation, operation, and upgrade of critical utility systems. (HVAC, steam, chilled water, process water/WFI, compressed gases, electrical systems, and refrigeration) used in the manufacture of pharmaceutical products also support the engineering drawing management system and Engineering Designers to ensure proper documentation of all plant systems.
  • Actively engage and support engineering priorities in response to manufacturing and plant priorities related to safety, quality, production, and cost/efficiency. Ensure critical utilities are mission capable to support 24/7 plant operations. Ensure that engineering support is performed in compliance with cGMP regulations and company policies and procedures.
  • Develop, lead or participate in various process improvement projects. Drive continuous improvement (LEAN) initiatives through application of sound engineering/reliability program elements and a data driven approach. Closely partner with Maintenance and Automation Engineering in the planning and execution of capital expansion and improvement projects.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and EHS to track and manage sustainability targets (Energy consumption, water, waste, etc.) Participate in Basis of Design and planning meetings related to the CYTIVA Site Master plan to ensure facility engineering and physical plant elements are represented in the final design.
  • This position must comply with all Security guidelines, Environmental Health and Safety regulations and the current Good Manufacturing Practices required by the job function as well as actively engage with external engineer service providers to ensure designs meet requirements and fitness for use.

Who you are:

  • BS in an Engineering discipline (Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering) or equivalent experience.
  • Five or more years of experience in engineering and support of facilities physical plant and clean utilities in 24/7, multi-facility production environment.
  • Advanced facility management with strong customer service, and problem solving is aptitude highly desired.
  • Working Knowledge of Pharmaceutical cGMP's, SOP's, Federal and local regulatory requirements.
  • Working knowledge of Excel, Word, Power Point, AUTOCAD, and SOLIDWORKS.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

  • Ability to travel 5-10%, overnight, for equipment reviews and factory acceptance testing and vendor reviews.
  • Must have a valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 50lb.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Strong finance, budgeting, and analytical skills.
  • Basic understanding of building automations systems and utility sequence of operations.
