Primarily day shift, exempt leader. Has 24/7 accountability of department with resources that support off shift. Works Closely with director on Hospital Flow strategies.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the direct and operational oversight of the Nursing Resource Office (NRO).
    •     1)Manages all aspects of the Nursing Resource Office (NRO) and the effective deployment of Clinical Resource Unit (CRU) associates to meet the required level of staffing needs.
    •     2)Establishes staffing requirements for the NRO. Plans for the appropriate utilization and management of staff resources.
    •     3)Maintains the staffing configuration plan (CORE) for the CRU, and NRO. Assures vacant positions are quickly processed for hiring, recruitment and approval. Facilitates interview and scheduling of CRU candidates.
    •     4)Assists and monitors the completion of NRO associate performance appraisals, education and overall assessment.
    •     5)Provides oversight of the house-wide supervisors.
    •     8)Monitors financial and staff productivity indicators, provides analysis, and recommends options for optimization. Pursues and implements cost savings initiatives identified by the site.
    •     6)Manage appropriate workflow patterns, implement emergency procedures and address customer needs at all levels of the organization.
    •     7)Prepares and maintains the Operational, Strategic and Capital Budgets.
    •     9)Responsible for all non-clinical aspects of agency scheduling, staffing and verification of payment.
  • Provides guidance and direction in the efficient management and evaluation of operations/services provided by NRO to ensure quality, efficiency and cost effectiveness.
    •     3)Identifies, facilitates, implements and monitors performance improvement initiatives/projects for process improvement and/or redesign in order to identify and implement efficiencies in CRU utilization, patient throughput, customer focused services, new updated technology, productivity efficiencies and cost savings initiatives.
    •     1)Provides oversight and guidance in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to assure effective and efficient operation consistent with Advocate Christ Medical Center.
    •     2)Assist Director in tactical responsibilities for financial goals and incentives. Is cognizant of budgetary requirements, making cost-effective staffing decisions. Adheres to all policies and procedures, safety rules, DNV standards, IDPH and CMS regulations and any other regulatory agency.
    •     4)Provides input for the development and implementation of departmental goals, policies, and procedures related to Nursing Resource Office department.
    •     5)Establishes staffing requirements for the Central Staffing Office. Plans for appropriate utilization and management of staff and resources.
  • Responsible for maintaining the day to day administrative needs of the Nursing Resource Office department.
    •     1)Monitors appropriate daily CRU scheduling and usage of contract services.
    •     2)Maintains and verifies appropriate credentialing of all contracted service personnel including documentation of contracted service personnel’s credentialing and unit orientation.
    •     3)Oversees system administrator operations for Advocate Works and Shift Wise.
    •     4)Monitors the completion of the associate performance appraisals, education and overall assessments.
    •     5)Oversees the auditing of contracted services charges and reconciles billing discrepancies

Education/Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) and Masters Degree any field OR Bachelors Degree any field with a Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) required
  • 2+ years of previous clinical management experience telemetry/medical - surgical or intensive care.
  • 4+ years of clinical RN expe
