Job Duties

Up to $25,000 Bonus for Registered Nurses that are new to state service and remain with the facility for 2 years.

$15,000 sign on bonus will be awarded to new hires to state service with a one-year written agreement requirement.

An additional $10,000 retention bonus will be awarded to new hires who are hired after November 9th, 2023. The retention bonus will be paid out one year after hire date and require a on-year written agreement.

Eastern State Hospital, located in Williamsburg, Virginia, was founded in 1773, with a well-intentional emphasis on community focused mental health care. This state of the art campus, situated on 500 acres, consists of two patient care buildings with 300 patients, and a highly skilled staff of over 900. Eastern State Hospital is part of the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) system, and is accredited by the Joint Commission.

ESH invites applications for the position of REGISTERED NURSE SUPERVISOR.

We are currently hiring for 12-hour shifts: D/E 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. or E/N 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.

The Registered Nurse Supervisor reports directly to the RNC.

• Provides comprehensive person centered nursing care to individuals and groups of individuals with complex mental and physical illnesses through the supervision of registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and direct services associates.

• Accountable for the management of assigned shifts including supervision of nursing services and the environment in which clinical nursing is practices for the delivery of quality patient care.

• Assists ensure the implementation and maintenance of policies are consistent with regulatory standards.

• Adheres to the Eastern State Hospital and the department of Nursing’s missions, goals and objectives.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current Virginia license to practice as a Registered Nurse or license eligible; multi-state compact endorsement accepted.

• Previous RN experience is required.

Additional Considerations

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution or higher education is preferred.

• Experience in a Psychiatric setting is preferred.

• Experience in Supervisory role is preferred.
