Qualifications:

1. Education – High School diploma required or GED equivalency required.
2. Experience: One to three years of similar job experience preferred, including forklift experience.
3. Be able to pass a motor vehicle background check.

Scope of Position:

Assist in the processing of donations, including but not limited to, sorting, pricing, storing, and stocking of goods.  The applicant will work mostly in the donation processing center (warehouse) and will report to the Thrift Store Manager.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• Demonstrate a positive attitude, good interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate with general public in a courteous manner.
• Able to address multiple clients in a timely manner.
• Responsive, detail oriented. 
• Ability to work as a team player.
• Ability to take directions from your immediate supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Sort donations in Processing Center, whether this be new donations, those in storage, or rags that need to be sorted separately.
• This position requires the use of a forklift.  Applicant must become familiar with forklift, safety rules and policies when using such a machine.
• Empty all Donation Drop Boxes to ensure that they are empty at the beginning and end of each workday.
• Break down and recycle boxes and containers that are not usable.
• Assist with pick-ups, deliveries, dump, or metal runs as directed by Thrift Store Manager.
• Watch property to help avoid unwanted garbage donations.
• Any other duties as may be assigned by the Thrift Store Manager and/or Corps Officer.

Working Conditions:

The physical requirements of this position requires that you are physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, and stoop in order to do the essential functions of the job. It is also imperati
