Job Description
The Production Artist plays a critical role in producing and finalizing high-quality visual materials across digital and print platforms. This position is responsible for delivering top-notch production services, maintaining brand standards, and facilitating smooth workflows. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically proficient, and capable of managing and prioritizing production tasks to ensure timely and accurate project delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Expertise in Photoshop for web production and high-end retouching (masking, background cleanup, image extensions, non-destructive workflows).
- Experience in eCommerce, product, fashion, or lifestyle retouching.
- Strong asset management skills: clean file naming, folder structures, version control, and reliable handoffs.
- Proficiency with Workfront (or similar project management tools).
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, SharePoint, Excel, and Adobe InDesign and Illustrator.
- Familiarity with CMS platforms and asset workflows (e.g., AEM).
- Ability to prep/export assets with accurate dimensions and optimized formats (JPEG, PNG, GIF, video); basic SVG awareness.
- Strong multitasking, time management, and organizational skills; able to prioritize effectively and adapt to shifting deadlines.
- Effective problem-solving abilities: identify and resolve production issues, escalate risks early.
- Clear and concise communication for status updates, dependencies, and cross-team coordination.
- Quick learner, comfortable assisting others and adapting to new tools or processes.
- Solid understanding of image layout, compression, file correction, and web optimization techniques.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently or collaboratively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with print/prepress production (ads, mailers, signage; bleeds, trim, CMYK, PDF/X).
- Ability to build templates, export presets, and create publisher guides or SOPs.
- Experience supporting training and onboarding for new team members.
