The Consumer Real Estate Loan Documentation Specialist role is responsible for preparing and ensuring the accuracy and compliance of all consumer real estate loan documentation. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mortgage lending regulations, specifically TRID, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Prepare and coordinate consumer real estate disclosures, ensuring all disclosures are timely and accurate in accordance with regulatory requirements
Prepare and coordinate consumer real estate loan closing documentation, ensuring all documents are accurate and in accordance with regulatory requirements
Review title commitments, insurance policies, and other third-party reports to identify and resolve any issues that may affect document accuracy
Maintain clear communication with loan officers, processors, and underwriters to facilitate smooth loan closings
Verify all conditions of approval have been satisfied prior to closing
Maintain organized loan files in electronic format in accordance with record retention policies
Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation and responding to audit findings
Stay current with changes in mortgage lending regulations and industry best practices through continuing education and training
Performs other related duties as assigned
QualificationsKnowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Strong knowledge of residential mortgage lending regulations, including TRID, RESPA, TILA, ECOA, FCRA, and HMDA
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing complex documentation
Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Jack Henry system knowledge preferred
LaserPro system knowledge preferred
Ability to work independently with little supervision
Ability to multi task and prioritize workload in a fast-paced work environment

Education and Experience:

Required:


High school diploma or GED required
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in mortgage loan documentation, closing, or processing


Preferred:

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field preferred
