TEAMSafety & Quality organization is dedicated to managing safety and quality at the company level. The team focuses on processes, policies, and compliance, aiming to prioritize product and process safety and quality. The team operates with the principles of standardization, fostering a unified approach to safety processes, and promoting independence between engineering and Safety & Quality.
The “Global Operational Safety” team, as part of the Safety & Quality organization,  is dedicated to ensuring the highest standards of safety and compliance in vehicle operations across all regions. Here is the mission and vision for the team:

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?The Woven by Toyota Vehicle Operational Safety and Compliance Lead is responsible for ensuring safe vehicle operations and  full compliance with relevant regulations and standards. This role is dedicated to developing and implementing safety protocols, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal laws. The safety and compliance lead will work closely with engineering, legal, and operational teams to maintain the highest levels of safety and compliance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Safety Protocol Development: Design and implement safety protocols and procedures for vehicle operations.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate safety measures into vehicle design and software.
  • Risk Assessment and Management: Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential safety issues.
  • Develop strategies to mitigate identified risks and ensure continuous improvement in safety practices.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on local, state, and federal regulations related to vehicle operations.
  • Ensure all vehicle operations comply with relevant laws and standards.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies and participate in compliance audits.
  • Incident Investigation and Reporting: Support investigations of any safety incidents or accidents involving WbyT vehicles.
  • Prepare detailed reports and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences
  • Training and Education: Develop and deliver training programs for staff on safety practices and compliance requirements.
  • Promote a culture of safety and awareness across the organization.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze safety data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Prepare regular safety performance reports for management and stakeholders.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure safety and compliance are integrated into all aspects of vehicle operations.
  • Communicate safety and compliance updates to internal and external stakeholders

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Safety Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in operational safety and compliance, preferably within the automotive or transportation sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of Automated Driving, ADAS technology and regulatory environments.
  • Experience in supporting vehicle operations and familiarity with operational challenges and requirements..
  • Experience in understanding transportation safety data, extracting insights from data, and establishing performance metrics.

NICE TO HAVES

  • Certification in safety or compliance management (e.g., CSP, ASP, SMS) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Functional Safety, Safety Management System, Safety Cases, and safety data analysis.
For California: $115,500- $189,750 a year.Your base salary is one part of your total compensation. We offer a base salary, short term and long term incentives, and a comprehensive benefits package. The California pay scale for this full time position is $115,500- $189,750
