Shift: Thursday - Saturday - 6:00am - 6:30pm
Shift Differential: +10%
Location: Cincinnati, OH - 2110 East Galbraith Road

Location/Division Specific Information:

The Cincinnati, OH site is a Center of Excellence for specialized oral solid dose manufacturing and drug development within the Pharma Services Group.


How will you make an impact?

As the Mfg Equipment Maintenance Technician you ensure all process equipment is running at optimal efficiency and coordinate with designated vendors to carry out regular scheduled preventative maintenance with a strong electrical focus.

How Will You Make an Impact?:

Ensure all process equipment is running at optimal efficiency. Collaborate with designated vendors to complete regular scheduled preventative maintenance. Work on assignments that are complex in nature and where considerable judgment and initiative is required. Established track record in problem-solving and offering resolutions and advice following standard processes. Experience with electrical, controls and mechanical systems. Ability to read, write, and apply sophisticated equipment and process drawings. Experience with mathematics, formulas, handbooks and a variety of precision measuring instruments. Ability to provide guidance to other employees as required or requested.

A Day in the Life:

  • Applies Good Manufacturing Principles in all areas of responsibility
  • Demonstrates and drives the Thermo Fisher values – Integrity, Intensity, Involvement and Innovation (The Four I’s)
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and diagnose & repair equipment problems related to sensors & electrical wiring.
  • Fix, repair, evaluate, and make recommendations to upgrade maintenance operations and/or implement savings opportunities
  • Respond immediately to emergency situations and customer concerns
  • Perform basic electrical work, and soldering
  • Electrical fundamentals (AC/DC Circuits, Electronics, Air flow sensors, DP Sensor, Control Valves, Actuators, single phase, three phase 480, VFD’s, Allen Bradley, Siemens, Programmable HMI’s/controllers, Advance Automation/Process controls, AHU, Read Drawings, Pneumatics, etc
  • Inspect equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions, preventative maintenance, etc
  • Assist with fixing and repairing process equipment and machines
  • Assist with installation and modification of equipment and systems
  • Follow all Company directives and regulations pertaining to building operations and practice safe work habits
  • Possess competent knowledge of the use and care of tools and equipment used in equipment, facility and grounds maintenance
  • Finish the required safety training on time as assigned by the company
  • Ability to use technology such as; smart phones, tablets, computers, web-based applications, building automation systems, etc.
  • Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Resolving tools and supplies needed for each different type of equipment center
  • Support maintenance strategy efforts for continuous improvement
  • Document work details through CMMS (Maximo)
  • Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED

Qualifications:

  • 5 years of dynamic experience and responsibility in the maintenance field preferred
  • Equipment maintenance experience preferred
  • Pharmaceutical Experience Preferred
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, customer service and mechanical/electrical skills.

Equivalency:

 Equivalent combinations of education, training, and meaningful work experience may be considered.
