The performance team is responsible for TikTok server performance optimization of TT, including CPU and Latency as well as performance analysis & performance optimization;

We are looking for motivated individuals interested in complex engineering challenges around one of the most important aspects of TikTok. You will have the opportunity to work closely with a multidisciplinary team of Mobile Engineers, Frontend Engineers, Site Reliability Engineers, Data Engineers, and Data Scientists in a high-impact and fast-paced environment.

As a Tech Lead Engineer on our TikTok Backend Infrastructure team, you will:
1. Leads efforts to empower TikTok backend infrastructure and corresponding toolchains with high efficiency and high standard development experience as a globally distributed engineering team
2. Leads efforts to optimize TikTok backend development and operations with advanced engineering methodology and collaborative solutions as the best engineering excellence community
3. Leads efforts to deep dive TikTok business scenarios to solve development pain points, provide optimal architecture and solutions from the perspective of experience and efficiency

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
5+ years of experience with solid basic knowledge, deep understanding of computer principles;
Master at least one language such as C, C++, Go, Java, PHP, Rust;
Have good communication skills and team awareness, positive and optimistic, and have a sense of responsibility;
Familiar with backend infrastructure and corresponding toolchain development

Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to lead resolution of complex problems based on technical and business understanding
Excellent problem analysis and problem-solving skills, able and willing to seek challenges, acquire new knowledge

【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $224000 - $410000 annually.​

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.​
