Project Context and Scope
Shelter projects include, life-saving activities include:
Providing safe and dignified accommodation to most vulnerable migrants and refugees.
Organizational Department / Unit to which the Consultant is contributingHumanitarian Response and Recovery Unit/Shelter sub-unit
Tasks to be performed under this contract
- Identify vulnerabilities of migrants and monitor that vulnerable individuals are assisted in a manner that ensures their safety, security and comfort; report all issues immediately to the appropriate supervisor(s) ;
- Coordinate and liaise with the procurement and logistics unit on tendering and contracting.
- Support the National Programme Officer (HRR) in the design, implementation and monitoring of IOM Poland activities under the areas of Humanitarian Response and Recovery, including Shelter and NFI.
- Retrieve, compile, summarize, analyse, and present information/data on specific project topics.
- Assist Senior Programme Associate in administrative tasks and coordination of unit’s activities, involving liaison with other organizational units and external parties to initiate requests, obtain necessary clearances, process and follow-up on administrative actions, etc.
- Respond to information requests and inquiries; set up and maintain files/records; organize meetings, workshops and training sessions; draft correspondence on unit’s issues.
- Assist in preparation and update of project documents for IOM; liaise and monitor the progress of activities in accordance with the agreements and project documents;
- Perform related administrative tasks related to their narrative and financial reports; report non-compliances to the supervisor.
- Undertake duty travel, if requested.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma with five years of relevant experience
- Proficient in a Microsoft Office environment and office software packages.
- Knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages, experience in handling of web-based management systems, data consolidation, analysis, and visualization.
- Proficient use of commonly used IT equipment and the appropriate software solutions.
- Experience in the management of confidential data and demonstrated the understanding of different data collection methodologies.
- Familiar with direct assistance to migrants and/or refugees.
- Strong work ethics and commitment to humanitarian principles.
- Knowledge, interest and commitment to the IOM mandate in the orderly and humane governance of migration.
- Excellent interpersonal relationships, including the ability to maintain effective relationships in a multicultural work environment, with sensitivity and respect for diversity.
- Strong interpersonal and communication, writing, drafting and presentations skills.
- Ability to write in a clear and concise manner.
- Demonstrated effective organizational skills and ability to handle work in an efficient and timely manner.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective work relationships with counterparts.
- English, Ukrainian and Russian.
