Primary Function:

This positions primary responsibility is to maintain all conveyor and building systems in order to support the goals of the DC.  A general understanding of mechanical, electrical, basic power distribution/controls, conveyor systems, powered industrial equipment (PIE) and building assets/components is required to assist in providing maximum system uptime.  The job scope includes recommending changes to and executing preventative maintenance programs and repairs to the facility infrastructure including the entire DC envelope and automated sorting equipment, Dematic Multi-Shuttle, Cross belt Sorter, if applicable associated conveyors, material handling equipment, building envelope and building MEP (mechanical/electrical/plumbing) systems.  This position will be responsible for properly completing work requests as well as projects.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Respond to all system issues involving conveyors, PIE, sortation and controls (EMS, WCS, Sort Director, EWM, Hardware, Software, etc.)
2. Assists with any infrastructure upgrades along with modifications/repairs to DC assets.
3. Basic troubleshooting/diagnostics and repair of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and control system components of the conveyor system and building components.
4. Primary responder to general building issues to include but not limited to:
5. Roof top units/HVAC
6. Dock Equipment
7. Routine office/warehouse building calls and repairs
8. General carpentry, plumbing, lighting, and exterior building upkeep and projects.
9. General upkeep and repair of compressors and air dryers.
10. Performs preventive maintenance on all conveyor systems, PIE and general building assets. 
11. Ability to work independently on projects and work assignments.
12. Work with contractors, service providers and other maintenance personnel.
13. Ability to operate all material handling and mobile equipment within the Distribution Center.
14. Perform work requests and projects as assigned.
15. Easily adjusts to changes in priorities, and flexible to respond to on-call emergencies.
16. Ability to work at heights and in unusual positions.
17. Ability to grasp, bend and lift up to 75 pounds on a regular basis.
18. Works in cross-functional teams and work groups to identify and resolve problems by proposing unique and innovative solutions.
19. Keeps team lead, and technicians informed of progress on assignments, projects and repair functions.
20. Must be available for 24-hour on-call rotation.
21. Utilize CMMS to enter daily Maintenance Activities

 

 

Pay Range

The starting range for Maintenance Tech II will be between $22.55 to $33.80 based on skill and other factors. 

 

 

Education & Experience:

 

1. High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical degree preferred.
2. Minimum of 3 years of building and equipment maintenance experience with one year maintaining Dematic or similar type conveyor systems.
