Senior Systems Engineer

- Design and implement datacenter and cloud infrastructure solutions, including servers, storage systems, network devices, and backup systems using industry best practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into infrastructure designs
- Monitor and optimize system performance, capacity, and efficiency through continuous monitoring and tuning
- Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions, ensuring data protection and business continuity
- Implement and automate cloud infrastructure provisioning using infrastructure as code (IaC) tools and DevOps practices
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and knowledge sharing to junior engineers and cross-functional teams
- Participate in incident response and problem resolution, troubleshooting complex issues and driving root cause analysis
- Ensure compliance with established policies, procedures, and security controls for infrastructure management
- Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies, and champion their adoption where appropriate
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of experience in datacenter operations or system administration
- Deep knowledge of server hardware, storage systems, and network infrastructure
- Deep expertise in infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible)
- Experience implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines
- Proficiency in containerization technologies (Docker, ECS) and container orchestration
- Extensive experience with backup and recovery tools (e.g., Cohesity, Netbackup, AWS Backup)
- Extensive experience in networking and firewalls (e.g.., Cisco, Meraki, Palo Alto, VPC’s)
- Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Ansible)
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure and services (e.g., AWS, Azure)
- Experience with security and compliance tools (e.g., InsightIDR, Prowler, AWS Inspector)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, or other relevant certifications are a plus
- Familiarity with Isilon, PowerMax, or other enterprise storage solutions
- Knowledge of high-performance computing (HPC) environments and infrastructure
