Job Summary

FreeWheel’s mission is to build great AdTech software. We are looking for a
Engineer 2 to join our growing engineering team in Freewheel. If you’re excited to work with a tightly knit team of UI engineers solving hard problems the right way using cutting-edge technologies from backend to frontend for the large-scaled distributed business system, and monitoring tools in the cloud, this opportunity is for you. Our Business engineering team works with huge provisioned datasets from several sources to help the world’s largest programmers, measurement partners, and networks monetize their supplies. We build and maintain responsive and user-friendly interfaces using modern web technologies crossing various devices and browsers on the state-of-the-art Cloud-Native platform built on AWS.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering leadership to gather requirements.
  • Gain a deep understanding of operational tasks.
  • Interface with global data engineering teams/components when necessary.
  • Create technical design documentation.
  • Develop test case design documentation.
  • Implement software solutions according to UI engineering standards.
  • Develop and implement Unit Tests, Regression Tests, and Automation tests based on the test case design.
  • Implement integration tests that span across component teams.
  • Incorporate appropriate instrumentation, monitoring, and alert mechanisms into the software.
  • Ensure delivered software solutions are consistently available and operational.
  • Implement bug fixes as required.
  • Perform upgrades for components, libraries, and infrastructure as necessary
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or similar field of study
  • 1+ years professional experience in software development.
  • Strong understanding of software development principles, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Proficiency knowledge of web development, including experience with HTTP HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React.js, and SQL databases.
  • Excellent in Golang/Java programming landscape.
  • Proficient in incorporating Unit Testing, Regression Testing, and Automation
  • Testing into code development.
  • Good problem-solving skills for both frontend and backend with tools Browser Developer Tool, Go PProf, JStack, JMap, etc
  • Effective communication and a strong desire to learn and adapt in a dynamic work environment.
  • Familiarity with the Scrum agile collaboration framework and Jira.
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
  • Experience with CI/CD/Git/ Jenkins tools and DevOps principles.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or cloud computing platforms is a plus
